Being from a place which can be called a town, I don't have the luxury of guidance counsellors. There are many great educational consultancy services. Oh and their greatness is directly proportional to their price tag. The ones I'm talking about arent located in india. So the correspondence will be done via Skype. Are they really worth it ? Because if it really boosts your chances, I might as well consider it. People ?</p>

<p>No, you’ll find all the info you need on CC. Really, those are a huge waste of money when people here will be able to help you for free.</p>
<p>Many Harvard, Yale, etc. acceptees have been accepted WITHOUT such services. You don’t need one. Don’t worry about it.</p>
<p>I got into an Ivy League with CC, google, SAT books and my normal school stuff. No expensive consultancy ish.</p>
<p>if you are a marginal admit, positioning your essay/ecs/recs a certain way can make or break you.</p>
<p>but with the amount of information available on the admissions process right now, you can tailor yourself as well as a consultancy can. i’d say, waste of money for the probability of acceptance they offer.</p>
