My parents think I should retake my SAT IIs. I'm applying to Dartmouth, Yale, Brown, Williams, Amherst, Bowdoin, Middlebury, Conn. Coll., Colby, Oberlin, Grinnell, and Ohio State. I don't think that any of those schools require three scores. I currently have scored:
US: 800 Chem: 720 Math IC: 670.

I obviously won't be sending my terrible math score into anywhere but Yale (they require all scores). I know I can do better on math, but what's the point of wasting $40 on the SAT IIs? My parents think I should retake math and take literature, since they believe SAT IIs are weighted heavily. I'm pretty good at math generally, but I took it the day after school got out. For those colleges, how good would a 700+ lit and a 750+ math look? Would it help? Is it worth it?

It’s perceived as a more challenging test, compared to Math I. I think if you can pull off a 750+ or even a 700+ on Literature, that would be very, very impressive. However, you should aim for an 800 on Math II, since appx. 11% of test takers get that score. This can be attributed to the fact that math inclined students tend to take this exam

No, I was just trying to save money. My parents are willing to pay, but… I didn’t want to waste time and money if they wouldn’t help. I think I’m going to take them, just to add something extra to the application. Besides, If I study, maybe I could get another 800! That would be amazing. Thanks for your advice.
