i really need book suggestions for teh ap world exam!! what did u guys used? i'm goin to be studying for the ap world next year independently since my school doesnt offer it and i need book suggestions.

I'm using Barrons.

hey i think kaplan is the best

Kaplan, Princeton Review, and Barron's.

All of them are at least decent, since they have the budget and market to make a decent review book.

Princeton Review is the best by far. It was actually interesting to read/study from.

Barrons is the best by far. Take it from a guy who got a 5 and 770 on the SATII. Barrons AP is the only thing you need to study for both.

Barron's AP World History. I feel that even if I had not taken the class and only read Barrons a week or two before the exam, I still would have received a 5 on the AP exam. Seriously, it's that good. Some people complain about its detailed nature, but details are especially important for the FRQs. I believe that you could still write an 8-9 point essay with only Barrons, given that you have attained your basic core points.

read princeton review and you will get a 5... no need to start early either. a week or two before the exam will do

I didn't study at all...but then again, I didn't self-study. :)

Barron's was good. Either it or the curve got me a 5... definitely wasn't the class.

Barrons is good. The review sections are pretty in depth and a little boring at times. One kid at my school read the book and got a 5 on the exam without taking the class.

Princeton Review is a lot easier to understand, but doesn't go as in depth as Barrons does.

If you've already read that 1,000 page textbook and have a handle on your history, then you should read Princeton Review. It's a good review.

I'm going to use Barrons , bought the book off of amazon for .50 lol it is the 2008-2007 one though.

In terms of actual historical content, the edition does not matter a great deal. I used the 2nd edition from 2006. Though, it would be better to buy the newest edition since the 2nd edition still has the 6-point basic core rubric instead of the newer 7-point one.

It's still the same old test taking techniques in every test prep book.

I used Barrons and Princeton Review. Since you're self-studying I'd say go with Barrons since it's a lot more detailed.

I'm talking AP world this year. Since I'm taking the class instead of self-studying, I won't need any prep books or anything. Especially since history is such a freaking easy subject.
