To those accepted

that’s the legit facebook group! welcome, y’all!

So excited! I just requested to join the Facebook group

I’m still considering MIT, Harvard, Yale, Brown and Pomona. Still have to submit the apps for those though…

To anyone who’s having trouble signing into SUNet, remember that it can take a few hours for the system to register you.

I couldn’t sign in, came back the next day and did the exact same thing, and was able to sign in.

I kinda want to read peoples roomate letters. I had no idea what to write in mine but by the end i liked it. Anyone want to exchange for fun?

I’d be up for it if others are, but do our actual roommates see these?

Besides, now that I reread it, it does sound a bit forced even though I wrote mine in a few minutes, trying to actually do a letter to a roommate.

Our roommates don’t see them, thank goodness :stuck_out_tongue: I really didn’t like mine all that much.

Yeah my roommate never read mine hahaha. Though if I remember, there was a thread on my year’s facebook group where kids posted their letters. It seemed to go over well, people really liked getting to know their classmates.

Maybe one of you should start the discussion on the Official facebook page! hahahha

If anybody wants to exchange message/email me
Im not in love with mine but it’s representative of my personality ferr suree.

Hey guys I have a quick question. Did you all get letters in the mail also regarding your acceptance?

^^ I just did today.

Has anyone other than freezingbeast received a letter in the mail?

My friend received a letter yesterday I believe (or Tuesday).

oh btw
important point:
make your SUNet ID professional. It is the email you will use to communicate with professors, submit work online, and apply to grad school. you will probably want it to be just your name with appropriate punctuation: e.g. john.smith or if that is taken then maybe j.h.smith, etc. (maybe throw in a number or 2-common sense)

Life is good! and I got my letter in the mail like two or three days ago(:

How many of you would want a Mac widget for the countdown until Admit Weekend if you could have it?

Does anyone know if Stanford rescinds acceptances for 2nd semester grades? I’ve got a terminal case of senioritis.

Yes, they can rescind your admission if you demonstrate ‘a noticeable drop in academic performance.’

I think it has to be PRETTY noticeable though. Keep making As and Bs and you’ll be fine.
I even heard of people who failed to graduate high school and were allowed to enroll the next year.

Who else got that email from Stanford about the phone calls? What questions will you guys ask?

Wish I had done that haha, I just used the same one that i had used for all my common log ins for the various colleges i’ve been taking classes with. So now i have a rather silly SUNet ID…

But, luckly, you can make email aliases quite easily, so… just in case anyone else was freaking out about that permanent SUNet ID thing, you don’t really need to worry :)

the phone calls are completely chill
students just sit and call a list of students to see wats up, if you have any questions

for most students, its just a way to make money for their student organizations, so i can’t guarantee they will be good at answering questions, although most of them will be helpful. your best bet is to find people who are really knowledgeable about what you want to know. hit me up if you have a specific question and i’ll find someone who knows the answer
