yea i may become one too :] but is it true for you guys that they only use up to 1st semester of senior year? (it'd be funny if the valedictorian decided to get straight Bs 2nd semester ) :P

haha... I wish we did. I'd love to know how I rank...

At my school, we have a 4.5 weight for honors/AP, and 4.0 for regular classes. A 4.0 or 4.5 is achieved for having a 97-100 percentage average. My GPA is somewhere around a 4.2-4.3, and my lowest semester grade on my transcript is a 97.

Good luck everyone!

Yea my school does something similar to the ones already mentioned... my weighted gpa is about 4.8 and my uw is 4.0.... i am val in a competitive public hs class of about 300ish... but they don't call you valedictorian at our school... that's a bad word here haha... they just call me the "number 1 ranked student"... the person behind me has about a 4.5 or 4.6 weighted and 3.8 or 3.9ish uw gpa so i'm not incredibly worried :) ... but he is the "number 2 ranked student," never salutatorian... AP classes give 5.0 credits for an A, honors classes give 4.5 credits for an A, and regular classes give 4.0 for an A...but the really unfair thing is how many really great students who take many AP classes are behind those who only take the easiest regular classes...however, the number 1, 2, and 3 highest ranked students speak at our graduation

Hm, I don't even know if any students speak at our graduation...
