Any confirmation of east coasters being called yet?

How about midwest?

Midwest, South, West, Southwest confirmed (by me).

Just waiting for Middle Atlantic/New England.

New England confirmed (sort of).

Are you guys confirming that at least one person from each region has been called, or do you know all 5 individuals/teams from each region that were called. I'm in South region, but my power is still out from Hurricane Wilma and the one phone that does work has no answering machine. I was not home today, but if they did call, I wouldn't have much way of knowing. I suppose I'm just grasping at threads here, but it would be nice to put this to rest so I'm not freaking out for the next 2 days.

At least one person from each. No news from Mid-Atlantic though.

I'm still holding out some hope that everyone from South hasn't been called yet.

I called the Westinghouse people are confirmed the following:

Regional Finalists will be posted around 4 pm on the 31st.

Only West and Southwest regional finalists will be called before the 31st- the others will be called after the names are posted.

Was Siemens lying to him?

In a word, yes. I know FOR SURE that people in other regions HAVE been called.

Come on, Mid-Atlantic...put this to rest already.

The worst they could do, though, is if they do rolling calls to the 5 individuals or teams. In that case, we could not know for sure until Monday...

I doubt it because that gives certain people the advantage of more time. I think everyone in one region is called at roughly the same time.

zogoto, were you called in the morning or evening last time?

tupac: Did you submit a new project or the one at Intel?

Similar, but different and in my opinion a lot better. But the thing is that my project is more engineering-based (no discoveries really) so a paper competition probably isn't ideal for me. They simply have to trust that the software works. Also, I think my forte is in the presentation, so that also hurts me.

Rejection is unpleasant, but I have high hopes for isef.

I was called at 1 PM EST (but I'm AZ so it was 4 PM) on halloween (a Sunday last year).

And yes, going to ISEF is a lot more fun than SWC regionals, so I don't feel that bad, but SW pampers you a lot more.

Do math oriented projects seem to do better since the competition is paper-based?

i think bio oriented projects do well too. It seems like the most medically applicable projects get chosen as winners.

yea...it's all how other people like your project

so..... anyone here a regional finalist? if so, what region?

They actually can't say until tomorrow so don't ask lol.

Time to wait until 12:00 PM.....
