To what extent is the in-state preference at Cornell University College of Human Ecology?

I am out-of-state and I know that Human Ecology school is a contract school and gets funding from NY state so I was wondering if I would just be better off applying to Arts & Sciences. However, I feel like I could write a better essay for Human Ecology than for Arts & Sciences. At the same time, I really have no preference as to which school I want to choose so I just want to apply wherever gives me the best shot. Does anyone have any information/advice?

Cornell says qualified NYS applicants may get a boost at the contract colleges but don’t really quantify it further.

IMO, you need to apply to the college that is the best fit for you.

I’m concerned about your “I have no preference as to which school I want to choose” comment. The course of study for Hum Ec and CAS are very different. I’d suggested you do a deeper dive in looking at the mission of these two colleges and the four year plan of study.
