Hi guys, I have been thinking to take a course about Toefl for the last 6 months and now that I've found a teacher, I am confused. She said that She can prepare me for the Christmas break just with an hour and half per week, aiming for a score of 100 or more. I know that my english level isn't so low, but it's not so high. I don't know what to think about Toefl, is it a stupid and easy exam?

To score well in TOEFL, you need to be familiar with its testing format, question types and specific test-taking techniques. Of course, you’ll also need a certain level of proficiency in English. But if your writing is anything to go by, I think improving your English is less important than really familiarizing yourself with the test.

Maybe as a gauge, I’m Singaporean and I took the iBT TOEFL 3 years back, scoring 117 out of 120 at the first go, with very little preparation other than doing sample questions.

Why don’t you take a practice test and find out?

1.5 hours/week with a teacher is plenty of time to polish your use of the language and go over test-taking strategies - which you will reinforce through practice on your own time. Test-taking strategies aside, the best preparation is to engage with the language as much as you can. Read, watch English videos, post on discussion boards, speak with native speakers if you can, etc.

Is 97 a good score? Will my TOEFL score be waivered if I have a good SAT-CR score?

Ok, thanks a lot. We will see.
Hoping for 100+.
