Tom Cruise needs a chill pill

No pun intended, but honestly - since when does being an actor give you an MD or pharmacy degree?

wow...

???????? this sounds kinda...interesting....you mind elaborating?

Tom Cruise criticized NBC "Today" show host Matt Lauer on Friday when Lauer mentioned Cruise's earlier criticism of Brooke Shields for taking anti-depressants. Cruise told Lauer he didn't know what he was talking about. "You don't know the history of psychiatry. I do," Cruise said.

http://asia.news.yahoo.com/050625/ap/d8aujcgo0.html

He went on to call Lauer irresponsible for even suggesting the idea that pills such as Adderal and Ritilin could be beneficial.

Great actor but a strange guy. He's one on a long list.

wowee i just watched the exerpt....it's kinda funny when you think about it..."there's no such thing as a chemical imbalance." I love it..he should do it again...this is entertainment

hehe
I did not like the way he reacted towards Matt, and telling him he didn't do his research on the topic.

I really like Matt Lauer. Why did Tom have to be so rude? He was only asking. That's his job!

Enough with the publicity. You'd think he'd learn to ease off after it got out of hand. Now he's going on all sorts of talk shows and just inviting people to ask him about this type of thing.

War of the Worlds still looks great, despite Cruise's nutty antics. I think he's been keeping cool for so long, doing cool stuff like Collateral and Minority Report, that the crazy guy inside him just burst out. He could use some Ritalin.

tom cruise is a weirdo. by all means, i enjoy his movies, but his involvement of the public in his bizarre personal life is unnecessary.

didn't tom cruise call matt lauer glim? i think the correct word was glib?

i thought tom cruise had ADHD when he was a kid?

crazy scientologists. he said he "researched" psychiatry, but what that probably means is he got anti-medicine propoganda papers from his scientologist buddies. gotta love an educated man...

"There is no such thing as a chemical imbalance..."

Pshh, he needs to be slapped.

Tom, Uhmm...just because you're a Scientologist doesn't make you an expert on everything....

funniest comment was by Louis Black who says to Tom Cruise's claims that there is no such thing as a chemical imbalance "How can you explain what's happening to you right now?!"

On a side note, is Scientology the same as Christian Science?? Or are they different?

guys, it seems like no one understands what is going on.

If you were banging Katie Holmes, you'd be crazy with excitement also.

this is the damn truth

Although I'm not very familiar with either, I'd think that Scientology is different from Christian Science (the former was the invention of sci-fi writer L. Ron Hubbard, the latter I've never heard of).

The only thing Cruise was right on was saying that it was arrogant to think that Earth was the only planet with life on it in the universe, which a good majority of CNN poll voters agreed with.

filmxoxo-
Yes, Louis Black was very funny. I wish more people would get their news from the Daily Show. The world would be a better place. Apparently Tom Cruise has read some Scientology propaganda and thinks he is the worlds expert on mental health. The only thing scarier than some poor person believing him is his believing himself. Great judgement. Goes right up there with his firing his previous.. publicist or manager, I forget which, and putting his sister in their place. Well, if they truly believe that negative attention is better than no attention at all, they have succeeded. After all, look at the numbers at the box office, though all movie attendance is down these days.
I prefer to look at the positive side, as Brooke Shields and several psychiatrists have said. If Cruise's bizarre statements has caused increased awareness of mental health issues, and particularly to post partum depression, then maybe it has done some good.

Tom Cruise is insane now. He needs to mind his own business and go away.

I've lost so much appreciation for Tom Cruise since he began publicity-whoring with Katie. It's disappointing. Even his good looks cannot makeup for his absurd behavior. At least Brad Pitt still seems like a pretty level-headed guy.
