Sorry this may be too many questions but i'll try hard to organize it:)!

1.) How are the dorms like at Notre dame? are there bathrooms within the rooms or is there a hall bathroom that they share all together? How do they partner you up with roommates?

2.) How difficult are the classes for business or psychology majors? I know business is top ranking at Notre dame, but how is the psychology field?

3.) I have a choice to attend University of Austin, which has a great rank within the business major, for so much less than the price of Notre Dame. I truly love everything about Notre Dame and my heart wants me to go there, but its just too expensive. Is there any scholarships you guys have done that weren't so competitive? All the scholarships i apply for, i don't get them in the end.

4.) How do asians- koreans in particular- fit in at Notre Dame? It's wouldn't be an uncomfortable scene for me, would it?

Sorry for so many questions. I've been reading through all the threads for the last few days and wanted to post a thread once i actually had all my questions in mind.
Thank you so much:)

The bathrooms are communal, though there are a few odd dorms here and there that have one or two bathrooms in private rooms. Don't count on that though, plan on the communal bathrooms. Also, the housing assignments are now completely random. They used to try to match by race but that failed miserably, so now it is random.

I am a senior Psychology major at Notre Dame who is preparing for graduate school. The classes are quite challenging but are not killers in Psychology...more the type where it isn't all that hard to get a B but an A is really quite hard. I feel very well prepared by the program and overall all of my friends' GRE Psychology scores (which is a test that tests you on all things Psych) have come out very strong.

I don't know of any private scholarships, but be sure to get a financial aid package from ND before your decide it is too expensive. ND is known for being generous with need based aid and may be willing to negotiate with you.

I can't speak too much for how Koreans fit, but from what I have seen, I don't think you will have a problem whatsoever. I have Asian, Latino, and Black friends at ND and really have never thought about it, so that is a good sign.

I hope that helps you some, let us know if you have more questions.

That is my hope, though I did apply to a couple counseling PhD programs as well. As for where I want to go, it just depends where I get in and where I feel at home on my interviews. Right now, my top three choices are Florida State, North Dakota and West Virginia. That can change quickly, however. I will know a lot more once I see the schools and get a sense for the department and how I fit. Where are you looking for your masters of accountancy programs?

I'm looking at Indiana, Notre Dame, and Butler.

I may look to out of state programs but I'll probably stay instate.

I'll be turning in an app for ND's program in late summer after I complete my GMATS. Wish me luck:) I'm working my behind off until then...if I can get a 4.0 this semester (14 credits) I'll raise my overall up to a 3.5. That's the plan, then if I can get at least a 600 (avg is 648..so that would probably be the bottom 10% of applicants) on the GMAT I'll have a "shot". That's all I want...a shot!

I hope you get into the program of your choice. Going to ND as an undergrad definitely opens up more doors than most universities. Why not ND's graduate program? Are they not ranked as high in psychology?

is businesss more difficult or is psychology more difficult at Notre dame?

Business, i heard, is the third highest for undergrad but is psychology ranked high for this university? Is it worth paying all that money if i'm going to major in psychology or is it worth more of my money if i major in business? i'm very interested in both

You can major in both if you wish, but I urge you to major in whatever you find you have a passion for. They really don't have undergrad rankings for psych, but again, I feel that my psych education was very strong at ND and I would highly recommend our department! I still think coming from ND for Psych does a lot for you, but Psych doesn't rely as much on connections as Business, so we do lose some of the alumni network's effectiveness.

They really aren't more or less difficult, and the way you graduate with honors is setup to make sure it is fair (it is done by a ranking system in a college by college manner). Don't worry about difficult, I think the same can be said for both...if you work hard you probably will be fine.
