Alright, I was wondering if my family income is too high for QB, they make in the ballpark of 57-60k. Is it too high?

Can anyone give me additional info on QB ?

If you become a finalist are you guaranteed a spot at HYPS?

I am a URM if that helps and a lifetime member of the NAACP! Raised over 6,700 bucks.

Also, if I am a finalist and accepted to HYPS will I get Full-Ride? I mean $0 EFC. :)

Up to $60k should be a free ride at most of the Ivies + MIT.

Ha! That would be nice. It’s not all that hard to become a finalist – 40-50% of the applicants get that far.

Maybe. You may have too much income to be matched during the initial round (although being a URM may help). Yale, for example, will simply not match you in the initial round, regardless of your qualifications, unless your EFC is zero.

During the regular decision round (where half the finalists get matched), colleges are under no obligation to offer you a full ride. With a family income near/at $60k, however, you’ll come close enough that HYPSM will be cheaper than community college.

By the way, the stats of QB finalists are generally pretty impressive – don’t get the idea that this is a easy backdoor admission into colleges that would ordinarily be out of reach academically.

It will depend on your other assets. My family income is <40k, but I was not matched to QB and I have a (minimally) greater than 0 EFC.
