Too Impersonal?

The question for this essay is simply: Write about something of particular interest to you—whether that be creative, fantastic, scientific, ethical, personal, political, etc.

It's a pretty open question, for sure, but my question is do you think that the essay should still have a sort of personal touch to it? I mean I wrote an essay for it, but I didn't reference myself once except in the conclusion. Do you guys think that I should be fine for it if the essay itself is good (although, again, no personal experiences or anything referenced)?

bump :(

bump again :(

I would have written about the thing that interests me, then touched on why I like it, then talked about how the school would help me pursue the interest.

I don’t really see how this essay could NOT be about you - this is a chance to express your passion for the subject, both personally and technically. Sorry, but that’s how I understood the prompt.
