<p>I just want everyone's opinion on this:</p>
<p>Do you think that it's too late for me to work on applications now even though the deadline is in January? because it seems like everyone already submitted theirs already.</p>
<p>For what is at stake, you should take the chance and try as hard as you can before January. You are not risking anything and it is worth it a hundred percent.</p>
<p>Hahah, it's definitely not too late. The application for most schools is Jan 15 or Feb 1. I plan on completing all my applications by the end of winter break (7th) and giving my teach recommendations to my teachers on the 7th, when we get back to school. That gives them a week so hopefully it's enough time for them haha. I probably should have given it to them before break, though..</p>

I'm basically done with everything (SSAT,FA, etc) except for my applications.</p>
<p>Go for it. Set the time aside, write the essays, complete the apps.... you have time BUT it is runnung out!</p>
<p>START THE ESSAYS FIRST. </p>
<p>Trust me on this one. You should write the essay and let it sit for a day or two then come back and read it. You'll be able to see the parts that don't flow and be able to fix them. If you do them at the end, you won't have that second, better draft.</p>

<p>Your question makes me wonder, why did you wait so long to do your application? Do you really want to go to prep school? Have you interviewed, or toured any schools?</p>

<p>It's definitely not too late! I didn't even think about boarding school until Thanksgiving, only visited/interviewed in late January, and turned in my applications on the last possible day...</p>

<p>It is not too late. Most kids are planning to prepare their applications over the Christmas break. You're in better shape if you've completed your visits, though, simply because you'll only have about 3 weeks to get them in.</p>
<p>Get your recommendation forms to your teachers ASAP. Lots of kids requested them before break so the teachers could fill them out, but if you request them right at the start of school in January, you should be ok. (I'm assuming the OP is in the USA)</p>
