This is probably a silly concern, but could having a large number of big leadership positions look fishy to college admissions? I go to a small school with about 600 - 700 students across all four classes, and only about 130 in my own class, so it’s not too difficult to get a lot of positions.
I have been SECME president since 10th grade (already won election for next year), and am also the current Beta Club president (planning to run again). As well as this, I recently won the election for Senior Class president for next year, and have been in student council since 10th grade (Sophomore Historian and Junior Secretary). As well as that, I’ve been considering running for Vice President of National Honors Society and/or a small role in NCSSSMST. I also wanted to start a Science NHS or American Chemistry Society with my AP Chemistry teacher next year, but at this point, I’m being overly optimistic about what I’m capable of.
Should I take a step back from leadership and focus on SECME, Beta Club, and student council?
I legitimately enjoy taking on the responsibility and being a part of the central organization of school activities and events, but at the same time, I don’t know how it would look from the admissions’ perspective. I take all of my roles seriously, though they can get a little stressful on top of school work.
