Too Many Units From Transfer

I am currently a CSU student that transferred from a CCC. While finishing up my degree I realized I only need two classes. It was recomended by my advisor I take them over the summer at a CCC, to save cost. However, taking both of these will push me over the 70 transferable unit mark. Is there any way to clear classes I don’t need that are on my transfer record to make sure these new classes count, or do I have to just take classes at the CSU?

I did look online, and found a few schools outside of California that have petitions for this situation. However, I couldn’t find anything on my CSU or any CSU about petitioning to remove/substitute transfer classes from a students’s record.

You need to meet with your advisor and get this clarified for your own specific situation.

The usual practice in California is to allow subject credit for all courses taken, even if the 70 unit limit on credit from community college courses means that you will not get more credit units. Verify with the advisor that this is the case.

However, if you need the credit units as well as the subject credit, then you need to take the courses at the CSU.
