Too much of a risk?

For my extended essay, I am doing the fifth choice and writing a short story instead of an essay.
Is this a good idea because it will make me stand out from the rest of a bad idea because it is too much of a risk?

You do need to include a prompt. What you say and how you choose to say it all says something about you. There have been folks who wrote poems and got into Chicago; don’t be afraid to take risks, on the app or in life.

thanks
yes, i know, I framed a pretty decent prompt, its basically like, write a short story that reflects upon a significant lesson you have learned about the world/life or portrays your feelings towards life.
and now I’m feeling pretty good about my decision :)

no such thing as too much risk for a chicago essay

Just make sure you aren’t taking a risk for the sake of taking a risk, and you’ll be fine  .

Definitely not, I felt like the short story was the best way to tell them something about the way I view the world

If you want a second opinion just PM me. I was accepted EA and would be glad to read it.

Oh that would be great! Thanks (:

I was accepted EA, and I took a risk in my fifth topic. I didn’t even write a story or essay, it was just a bunch of “I Am” statements. I posted it in the “Post your essay” thread if you wanna see

Oooh can I have a link?

I’m writing my extended essay about bananas. I wonder how badly this is gonna screw me over.

Not very badly, as long as the whole thing cannot be seen as a sexual innuendo =P
