<p>You can do study abroad and simultaneous degrees. In four years. Save that study abroad semester for all your breadth courses and go heavy on the technicals while you’re in Berkeley. Take at least 18 units each semester, and maybe do a summer, and you’re all set.</p>
<p>You will not need to know MATLAB in much depth. ChBE 162, the process control class relies mostly on Simulink. You’ll only really use MATLAB for scripting and plotting. Many of my classmates did not take a MATLAB class (they were transfers) and they did fine. If I were you I’d go with 61A since it sounds more interesting (E7 is really boring).</p>
