Too much stage, not enough film?

@braveheart52 Your post just solidifies the truth that BFA acceptances are a crapshoot and do not indicate whether your child has talent or not.

“Hard work without talent is a shame, but talent without hard work is a tragedy”

@bisouu D’s rejection by Chapman (Film/Screen) really surprised us. LOL. Is there a wait list ?

While I agree that the coveted letters to some of these programs come down to being a numbers game. Fueled by politics and a large margin of luck. I think that it would be foolish to say they aren’t indicative of a applicants talent, marketability, tenacity and aptitude. YES, there are certainly students who exhibit all of these attributes that do not get into programs. However, to discredit the accomplishments of another who was fortunate enough to, because your experience has been different. Seems really harsh.

I guess I should have said that all these kids have talent…that is a given…no one gets in without talent, but those who don’t get in are often not denied because of talent but because of factors that the student has no control over.

@newsomert Very well articulated and timely comment
