So, I took my first practice test. It was, abysmal. I am thinking of taking the January SAT, will just taking more practice tests and reading grubers help? Also, how do you grade the writing overall? Plus I need an essay grade. Thanks!

It is very common to take a bad mark in your first practice test. If you think that the mark doesn’t reflect your abilities, take another test applying the same actual SAT test conditions and use your mark as the beginning for the preparation.

Note: It is prefered to take a practice test done by the Collegeboard.

Then, analyze your mistakes and discover how to solve them.

I used test number 1 in the blue book. Strangely, I got all the 5’s right for CR, I screwed up on a few on the 1-3’s and omitted a lot for math. How would you recommend studying for math?

Actually, Math is my best part in the SAT. I study for math by solving practice tests, where my tutor gave a huge book that contains a lot of real SAT tests.

For you, I saw that a lot of CCers here agree upon “Gruber’s Complete SAT Math Workbook” for Math preparation.

By the way, I have a PDF copy of the Gruber’s Math Workbook if you want. Satnoob sent it to me.

That would be great. I have grubers complete, but if I could do just the math sections from that book, it would help! I will probably read through Grubers math review a lot.

Ha you might want to checkup on your comma usage XD.

lol Thanks :P
