Top 20 schools

It's hundreds of thousands of kids' dream to go to a top 20 university/college. Yet there are only 20 of them allowing only a handful to get in..... or are there more?

Just off the top of my head, these (in no particular order, numbering is just for easy counting) are "top 20" schools that I've heard people say, or read by myself. These are all general ranking, not in any specific field.

.... and that's just off the top of my head. There seems to be as many "top 20s" as there are students applying for them...

oh yeah, and i have a question: I always read people's chance threads, and often I come across two that are quite similar, with one who is applying to HYPS type schools, and the other to rice, CMU UCs and other... second rate schools (no offense). However, the response for the HYPS is always "you have a really good chance, your competitive" etc. but the ones for the 2nd rate are always like "your scores and GPAs are too low, and you don't have enough ECs, it's a big reach". Why is that?

I find these really funny.

Oh yeah, and I can't find a proper place to post this so it's here.

Most students in the US don't apply to international schoosl, so I don't know if they should be on the list.

where's the school of hard knocks?

And what about Def Jam University. C'mon now. Step UP!!!!!!!!!!

That can't be an easy username to type.

mine? actually it's very easy.... u ername. the § on my cpu is just alt 789

what if you want to log in on a lap top or something..

the reponses you've read about for 'first rate' and 'second rate' schools are just some of them..i actually read more "hypsmc is a reach for (most) everyone."

Oh man.

Good luck getting into Todai (Tokyo University.)

No really. GOOD LUCK.

huh?? /randomtext/

hard to get into that school im guessing

try peking U. it's like 1/3,000,000 if i remember correctly.

which is why when i first saw harvard/yale rates of ~9-10% i was like that's so high... why is everyone complaining it's so low?

and fellowCC, yes they say that, but they also say you have a good chance unlike the ones for CMU or Rice or vanderbilt they are like go apply somewhere else where you have a chance
