I need some clarification on the top 7% rule.
So if you’re in the top 7% in your Hs class, you’re automatically guaranteed admission? They don’t look over SAT scores, ECS, essays to determine if you can get accepted?
Is there a possibility that someone in the top 7% can get denied or be CAP’d?
I’m in the Top 6% of my class by the way, just worried that my SAT would be on the low side
You must submit the scores, but they will only be used for approving your major/school. So if you want a popular or challanging major, you should think about taking the SAT/ACT again. Some majors also require HS calculus.
(1) The student has met ONE of the following:
(A) Successfully completed the distinguished level of achievement under the Foundation, Recommended, or Advanced High School Program from a Texas public high school as outlined under Texas Education Code…
(B) Successfully completed a curriculum from a high school in Texas other than a public high school that is equivalent in content and rigor to the distinguished level of achievement under the Foundation, the Recommended, or Advanced High School Program as outlined under subsection (c) of this section;
(C) Satisfied ACT’s College Readiness Benchmarks on the ACT assessment; or
(D) Earned on the SAT assessment a score of at least a 1500 out of 2400, or the equivalent;
Nursing is a very competitive major. If you’re worried that your SAT score is low, it probably is. Retake it to improve your scores. Take the time to write quality essays. Get involved in ECs that complement your intended nursing major. Good luck and hook 'em!
yeah I will probably take the SATs again in the early fall. I have lots of ECs and accomplishments for nursing:
accepted into health science program (16 ppl out of 200 applicants)
Did clinical rotations for a year (shadowing)
Certified Medical Administrative Assistant
Certified Medical Assistant
Certified in CPR
I could shadow my parents cause they’re nurses as well
