Rank the business majors that you think are the most impressive for a college graduate to have earned when searching for a job.
* Rank #1 being the most impressive

bump*********

I think I would group them…

Finance
Business Economics
Applied Statistics
Actuarial Sciences

Accounting
Management Information Systems
Int’l Business

Healthcare Mgmt
Operations Mgmt
Marketing

There’s probably some I’m forgetting…and all the sub-programs and specializations…like Supply Chain mgmt, Entrepreneurship, Investment Mgmt, etc

Anyway…just an opinion…others will differ. And, I’ll probably change my mind after seeing some more enlightened rankings. :)

I’m not sure the purpose of this thread. For an accounting firm looking for a staff accountant, accounting majors are the most impressive. For a corporation looking for an internal financial analyst, both accounting and finance major works. If an insurance company, of course, it’s actuarial science unless they’re filling their HR dept…

^^^

True…the hiring company is going to most value what they’re currently looking for.

I wasn’t thinking of any ONE company and its particular immediate needs; I was thinking of the marketability power of each major compared to the others.

If you look at IQ, someone with an Economics major generally has a higher IQ than the others like Business. Just putting in my 2cents sorry if this didn’t help haha. It’s true though.

Management Information Systems gives you the technology with business background which is essential in today’s job market.

Finance

Accounting

Others

Today many econ majors are the ones not admitted to the very competitive B school on campus. It’s a fallback.
