Top colleges that have no supplemental essays to common app?

wow, my mother has been nagging me every day for the past 2 months :'(

anyhoo, i’m recycling one essay about 6 times, yay  so most of my supplemental stuff is out of the way, but i still need to write my common app MAIN essay, ahhh.

but doncha just love when you’re unsure about a few schools, but then u look at the supplements, which are ridiculously lengthy, & cut them? because i do : P that’s how i narrowed down most of my list.

sorry if i’m babbling. it’s late.

Bump - any more? Schools without essays in the supplements?

theycalmecc, which colleges require lengthy supp essays?

let’s see…

wake forest-gives u ten questions. TEN. &, on top of that, asks u to list a bunch of books you’ve read in the past 2 years -_-

occidental-gives u about 5 essays

hampshire-wants u to upload a freaking analytical paper you’ve written in the past + wants u to write one hardcore essay

claremont mckenna-wants u to WRITE a freaking analytical paper just for them + fill in some blanks

i don’t know, maybe if one of those schools was my DREAM school, i would do it. but they’re not, so i won’t ;)

Stanford is pretty lengthy.

I wish someone would make a list of schools frequently mentioned on CC and list them by number of supplemental essays (with short takes of 100 words or less = one essay for all of them). I know it sounds lame, but I need to apply to one more school. Since I won’t be going there unless my safety comes up with awful financial aid, I have to really like it but I don’t have to love it as much as the other schools on my list.

Smith just has two very short ones

Now that Wake is requiring interviews hopefully they’ll lessen the required supplements.

I would not let the number of supplement essays deter you from applying to a school. I know it is a lot of work (trust me, i was on the same boat as you were last year), but it pays off in the end. One of the best merit aid offers I received was from a school that required 3 supplementary essays. I almost did not apply to this institution because I didn’t want to do the supplementary essays. However, I am glad that I did because I am now attending this university, which is Rice.

Not a “top” school, but Clemson requires no essays.

Colby College eliminated the supplemental essay for the application for the Class of 2015.

lovin’ this thread

^Agreed. Let’s keep it going!
