<p>Thanks. More of a list and explanation would be nice</p>
<p>For several more established institutions …</p>

<li>Hillsdale …imo leads the pack in your word “conservative.”</li>

<p>If you add “Christian” , a whole new pack of worms.</p>

<p>3… Add Grove City. And it is, but it’s also more imbued w/ dogma, legalism. And that’s not necessarily negative. Just the way it is.</p>

<li>Patrick Henry is portraying good stuff, but one needs to be very cautious. These newer beasts are fragile. Require too many resources unavailable to them. Or a personality driven agenda, which usually, not always flop.</li>

<p>Yes. I would like a list of christian conservative colleges that are ranked by academic rigor.</p>
<p>I visited Patrick Henry College two years ago. It is truly astounding in its academic rigour. Its forensic team regularly beats the likes of Harvard, et al. Their is no figure they follow, but Jesus Christ. They are solid in every way. As a current book says in it’s title, Patrick Henry is indeed, “God’s Harvard”, by Rosen. In fact, the 20 year old admissions advisor was just accepted to Harvard Law School. It is a formidable force in academia that is bent on developing leaders who love our country as much as Patrick Henry.</p>
<p>True Love’s truly in love. And as we know, love must be crazy, not logical, thank Heavens.</p>
<p>But the college selection (and ranking) process is, in the end, like a beauty contest. Some bathing suit, some questions of world peace, some baton twirling or other claim of talent. Mne’s watch-winding.</p>
<p>What’s my point? I love True Love’s passion. But he/she’s cleary crazed, can’t see straight.</p>
<p>Patrick Henry’s a great idea. So was Eisenhour. And Parsons. And Hiram-Scott. Albeit all for various reasons.</p>
<p>But Patrick Henry’s a lab experiment, no matter their long and winding road explaing “accreditation” and their good effort to align the institution w/ the likes of Hillsdale, Grove City, Ozarks, and more.</p>
<p>But …at this point, doing so, imo, merely serves to discredit by proclaiming it’s something it hopes and strives to be, and ain’t yet.</p>
<p>So my opinion, and worth every dime the cost, is that Pat Henry was a great Christian patriot, and a number of like-hearted folks have joined to establish a place worthy of honoring his name. And they’re on the road, seemingly doing a dandy job to date. But too few students making too little imprint to proclaim it all a victory …or even winning in the bottom of the 5th inning yet. </p>
<p>So, bull on the post. Bully on the College and its future. The start looks pretty good.</p>
<p>I confess, I’d not be prepared to invest mega-tuition in this grand experiment, and more important, the future pedigree of my beloved offsrprung. </p>
<p>Now, if those don’t matter? Have at it. And pump in the offerings above and beyond the tithe to this lofty vision.</p>
<p>And here’s that True Love’s passion is duly converted into a lifelong love affair and marriage, with wonderful fruit.</p>
<p>Conservative politically or with their Christian beliefs? Aligning with your Christian beliefs is difficult (Calvinist, Arminian, Theistic Evolution, Creation (or anywhere in between)?). You should get the idea. My suggestion is to look at the last post in this thread:</p>

<p>And then consider each college basing it on your beliefs. Talk with current students and/or their parents to get an idea of what is taught in class - not just what is promoted on their web site.</p>
<p>I don’t know all the colleges. That list is composed solely of those I know or those people recommended I add and their SAT/ACT scores for incoming Freshmen to get an idea of academic strength. My own son will be attending Covenant in 2010. It’s sufficiently conservative enough for us, but not the most conservative on the list. It’s also Calvinist (we’re not), but open enough for us to feel comfortable. The major he wanted (double majoring in Community Development and Business with plans on becoming a microfinance manager overseas) seemed absolutely perfect there and he was ok with such a small school (my biggest beef - roughly 1000 students). Potential future employers have told him to remember to apply for internships in a couple of years once they learned he was going there, so I’m satisfied at this point.</p>
<p>Patrick Henry gets top marks for conservative both politically and Christian-wise from those I’ve talked with.</p>
<p>Grove City gets top marks for conservative politically. A couple of folks I talked with called their Christian teaching more liberal, but that again goes back to what the individual wants I suspect.</p>
<p>Besides the above, Cedarville, Bryan, Houghton, Le Tourneau, Union, Harding, Geneva, and Liberty are all I would place on a conservative list. Others might merit being there too, but I simply don’t know. Liberty does NOT have academic rigor IMO. Those toward the top of the list would.</p>
