Top LAC Chances?

I'm applying only to private liberal arts colleges because I like to pretend I'm not a middle class Midwesterner. What are my chances for:
Pomona
Grinnell
Oberlin
Claremont McKenna
Kenyon
Occidental

Me: White, Male, Middle Class, Ohio, County considered part of Appalachia (hook maybe?) Religious Minority

Rank: Top 5 out of 250ish, possibly 1?

GPA: 4.1 weighted, 4.0 unweighted

PSAT: 201 - oh well
SAT: Haven't taken yet, its difficult to take in Ohio, but I'm going to tough it out. Shooting for a 770 CR, 730 M, 700 W (2200)
ACT: 31, taking again, goal: 33
SAT 2: Will take US History, Math 1, and Literature. Hopefully 700+ on all.

AP Scores:
Chem - 4
Euro - 5

Taking:
US History
Eng. Lit
Calc AB
Physics B
French Lang.

(School limits the number of AP classes to 6. I'm taking French Lang anyways)

Teacher Recs - Should be absolutely stellar
Counselor Rec- She uses a form letter = /

Awards:
I don't really know any awards. Do things like honor roll and state award of merit/honor diploma count?

Future Major:
Economics/Environmental Science

Chance me please? I'll love you forever.

Pomona – Reach with a 2200.

Not sure about Oberlin

Rest, match.

And I would say match for Oberlin too =]

Would it be worth it to apply to Pomona early decision?
It’s my top choice, I’m just not sure I’ll be able to afford it.

Pomona doesn’t get a huge amount of students from your area (they mostly draw from CA, I hope nobody flames me for simply stating the facts) so that might help a bit.

In general, I would not apply ED anywhere if you’re not sure you can afford it. Have you calculated your EFC yet?

No, the state pays for a staff member at our school to assist seniors with applying to college and financial aid and all that what not.
I’ll be doing that with her sometime this fall. She’ll probably be able to give me a better idea of how I stack up for admission also, I imagine.

I would still calculate your EFC. There are some sites that you can find on google for this.

After all, you’re posting on CC about chancing and FA, two subjects the staff member can also do. It’s still better to think about this before you meet with her.

Alright then, I’ll do that.
Thanks.
