You should check the archives for past posts (several) on this topic. Poster Warblersrule86 has provided very good advice. Here's a sample of what you should know.

Marine Biology, Biological Oceanography, Marine Science is, for the most part, a graduate field of study. Don't plan on getting a job in the field with simply a BA/BS. Some of the undergraduate programs with comprehensive (such as NOAA) labs include...
U of Massachusetts-Dartmouth
U of North Carolina-Wilmington
U of South Carolina-Columbia
Oregon State University
U of Washington

Also, see the College of Charleston, Richard Stockton College (NJ).
For graduate programs, many biology departments have a marine/ecology division but the leading comprehensive and most respected marine biology/fisheries/ecology graduate schools include...
U of California-San Diego/Scripps
MIT-Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute
SUNY Stony Brook
And there's a new graduate program at the Woods Hole Marine Biological Lab (different from WHOI) operated by Brown University.

College of the Atlantic

thanks a lot.
how about the hawaii pacific university marine biology major? does anyone know something about that one?

I don't have direct knowledge about the program at U Hawaii but reportedly it is very good. However, UH's general academic standing is not highly regarded.

how about stanfords marine biology major. No one has mentioned that one so far. Isn't also considered to be a very good program?
