Top of class at lower-ranked school or lower part of class at higher-ranked school?

Is it better to be toward the top of your class at a lower-ranked college or to be in the middle/lower-end at a school that is well-ranked?

I'm going to use Texas State (Honors) and the University of Alabama for examples since those are two schools I am currently considering.

Would it be better to be well-ranked in the honors program at Texas State or an average student at Alabama? Which one would help someone get a job?

Bump? Anyone have advice?

Well this is a hard question. Its best to excel at any school you go to regardless of rank.
