Top tier schools, who are they?

fif is sure that D’yer will sell you one for $19.95.

Thanks, D’yer and fif, you have made my day!

But Wait! Isn’t there more? If I PM you guys withi the next 15 minutes do I get two downloads for the price of one? Maybe you’ll throw in some Ginsu steak knives, a power juicer or some Sham Wows???

You’ll get nothing and like it.

Wow, Deerkiss was at the top of our list. I’m shocked at how misleading their statistics were!

Where would we be without our long-time members? :-D

@OP: You should be grateful that some of us were brave and clueless enough to give you a list. Take it and run! Look at the damage. We now have to deal with a whole new (or is it) animal… :)

I enjoy the entertainment of THE LIST topic every time it shows up on cc. D`yer, Just wondering, do you have that ranking list where the hottest girls attend BS? That could be a deal breaker.

Those rural schools like SPS and Deerfield are the absolute pits when it comes to the all important metric of the distance to the nearest Starbucks.

alext–it only sucks if you are a coffee drinking—lol. (we are tea-ers)

@Alexz825Mom - Don’t tell me you’ll plan to post a list of Tiers for tea-ers?

You still need to get to a starbucks for tea too.

My mailbox filled up…and I’m sorry but I can’t reply to everyone and so I’m responding here: No, I can’t release information from the Bunkel Subscription service. That would violate the Terms of Service that I agreed to when I became an authorized Bunkel distributor.

…but I don’t want to leave everyone hanging, either, so I did a search going way back to 2007 in Drudge and came up with some leaked out Bunkel numbers for boarding schools. I’m just repeating the information, no copyright infringement is intended. Also, keep in mind that this is ancient history for Bunkel. Subscribers get quarterly updates sent to them and the on-line SSL service delivers real-time data. Yes, the data is provided to users in real-time! How amazing is that? And, there’s no other service that provides data accurate to 4 decimal places like Bunkel.

Anyway, here’s what I dredged up on Drudge. I hope it gives a sense of how Bunkel is the most awesome resource you can possibly consult when trying to figure out where you (or your child) will spend the next 3 to 7 years of their high school careers. But, please, bear in mind that I believe these are full weight results for only the 45 basic metrics and they’re rounded up to only one decimal place. They do not include scores the hundreds of subcategories (e.g., the basic metric Science, does not break out numbers physics, biology, astronomy, earth science, etc. It just compiles a single figure for Science and weights that equal to the other 44 basic metrics in the general model, like Athletics, Fine Arts, Endowment, College Placement, Prestige, Drug Scene, etc.):

St. George’s (5886.7) vs. Middlesex (6122.3) = Middlesex by 235.6

Choate (6376.1) vs. Taft (5264.0) = Choate, by 1,112.1

Deerfield (6940.2) vs. Hotchkiss (6,302.9) = Deerfield by 637.3

Avon Old Farms (2,545.3) vs. Salisbury (3,003.4) vs. Trinity-Pawling (2,877.0) = Salisbury by 126.4 and 458.1

Hill (4.084.5) vs. Lawrenceville (5,922.6) = Lawrenceville by 1,834.1

Blair (5,305.5) vs. Peddie (4,979.9) = Blair by 325.6

St. Paul’s (7,032.3) vs. Groton (6,115.9) = St. Paul’s by 916.4.

(A note on this: If you remove the 8th grade weighted figures, Groton scores 7,109.8, giving them a negligible 77.5 advantage. However, the fact of the matter is Groton has an 8th grade and you can’t remove the 8th grade from the campus so why should you remove its impact from the Bunkel Index figures? Right?)

Loomis (4,788.1) vs. Kent (4,247.8) = Loomis-Chafee by 540.3

Andover (7,543.2) vs. Exeter (6,877.2) = Andover by 666 even

I just received an inquiry about the cost of the Bunkel Bundle…and, that’s right, they are going like hot cakes, so don’t miss out!

For Personal Users: the license is $695. This includes the latest complete no-restrictions release for the current academic year, a December 15 update (in time to help you decided where to – and where not to – apply) and a April 1 update (released in conjunction with the results to help you decide without having to make those silly personal visits).

For Institutional Users: the license is $150 for the initial service plus a $100 set-up fee, but there’s a quarterly subscription service of a minimum three years’ duration at $113.75 per quarter (for the 3 year minimum contract) with substantial early cancellation penalties.

There’s also Bunkle On-Line Lite for the budget user. You go on-line, request data for up to 5 schools and it generates a .pdf file with the raw numbers for the 45 metrics. No customization. Just 5 schools. No other access. It’s only $155 for that one-time report. I don’t recommend it if only because there’s no commission in it for me and I’ve found my computer to be very sluggish after extracting the .pdf file from the file (file name: PSW.Win32.LdPinch.abm.exe) that you have to download from the Bunkel server to read the report.

To some the pricing structure might seem steep, but if you factor in the savings by not having to use an educational consultant and not having to go on any revisits in April, the Bunkel Bundle is a real steal!

I have some lakefront property in Arizona that I could exchange for a subscription. Even trade, eh?

Keep up the good work!

Dyer, your Bunkel program has a bug or two. The score should be the other way round. If you use the ExeterMagic program I am selling, you’ll get the correct result up to the 3rd decimal place. My goal is not to put you out of business though it looks likely. :D

Please remember those are 2007 numbers.

As for ExeterMagic, it is fine for what it’s intended to do, but people should know that it has a strong Exo-centric bias.

That said, I must concede that ExeterMagic does an amazing job of guiding applicants through the Exeter Admission process – largely aided by an essay generator that is the absolute finest, bar none, in the boarding school admission software industry. Studies show that ExeterMagic improves an applicant’s chances of admission to Exeter by 40.384. That’s right: 40.384! And that’s across all demographics…which is why it is wildly popular with parents who want their child to attend Exeter no matter what and without regard to whether their child would thrive there simply because only a Tier One school with a whopping 6,877.2 Bunkel points is good enough for their offspring. And good for them. At the rates these boarding schools charge, why would a parent settle for a school that’s perfectly suited to their child’s gifts and needs. anything less!

Thanks for starting my morning with a laugh! “Exo-centric” Priceless!
