Got rejected from UF. I'm torn between FSU and UCF...while FSU has a historic university, they don't really offer courses for my major--I'd have to take some at FAMU, which I really don't want to do. UCF has the courses for the major I want on campus...

Do any of you know how UCF is for Pre-vet or Zoology? I'm thinking that opportunites for internships would be better at UCF since it's on Orlando...I could intern at Sea World or various zoos, but am not sure if I would have the same opportunities should I attend FSU. Any insight on this? Thanks for any input!

Oops–neither UCF or FSU offer zoology; just pre-vet

Ohh! Wow, awesome, thanks a lot! I wouldn’t have to go to FAMU for Zoology, would I…I just really want to stay at one campus. Do you know of anyone who’s transferred from FSU to UF (for vet school), and if it is hard to do so? I hear they mostly accept community college transfers…but I don’t want to attend CC! =[

I am not aware that anyone transfers from CC or U to Vet school. You need to graduate from a college or U with a full bachelors degree and all the prerequisites first. Vet school is a professional graduate program for those who have graduated with a BS or BA. It is very competitive. There are only 1/3 the number of vet schools in the US compared to med schools. FSU has prevet advising to help one graduate from FSU with the required prerequisites. There are a couple classes that NO Florida U offers that are required by UF but if you are accepted to UF you can enroll the summer before (vet school starts in the fall) and get those two classes done.
