Total number auditioning

I know this information is some place on a thread, but I can’t find it and I am wondering if anyone has the approximate total of how many audition for the BFA in MT per year at CCM? Thanks.

PJ Woolston told me they had 740 audition for MT this year.

My D was told 800 at NY Unifieds. They wanted to end up with 22 (11 boys & 11 girls). Oops we cross posted. 740 is probably more exact.

Wow, that was a very quick response. Thank you very much. I knew someone would know. Great group here.

Congrats to you, bunch, on your fine acceptances!

Quick, soozievt, post three more times . . . you're just about to break 9000! Woohoo!! Talk about dedication!

I, for one, sincerely appreciate all the advice and words of encouragement you give to all of us and our kids, thank you!

Now, get on with it . . . just three to go . . .

OK, if you insist.....(I didn't notice the post count myself)....

OK, question for Bunch or whomever knows.....I need the total number auditioning for UMichigan too but I realize this number reflects the preliminary academic review and invitations to audition. I recall my D's year there were maybe 350. I forget what I read for this year. Was it 400? This is really not the right school forum for that question, sorry! Bunch got into both schools and so there is my linkage. :)

(Ok, two more posts to go....LOL)

I think I found my answer for UMich.....435...on another thread and so my recollection was pretty accurate.

That's another post too! :D

I am not sure how many auditioned at UMich this year, but I thought it was more than 435. I have heard so many numbers in the past few weeks, that they are all running together.

You mention they audition 740 and hope to yield 22… how many arre accpeted total? I know some schools who want to yield 20 accept 40-60… is this the same case?

CCM traditionally has a very high acceptance rate and, thus, does NOT admit many over its desired yield.

Note that this thread is two years old and the audition numbers and probable acceptances numbers are not accurate for this year.

We were told that they stopped taking applications at 900 this year. They hope to have a class of 20-22 this coming year. They usually accept 23-24 to yield this. Hope this helps.
