Notre Dame released its 2010 football schedule and it brings tears to your eyes. Only three road games, no SEC or Big 12, a Mid American Conference Game and two neutral service Academcy games are on the "agenda." How will the Irish ever be able to attract future NFL potential talent with this kind of competition? Every year, the Irish ratchet the schedule back and hope that it will turn things around, when the soft schedule is precisely the self-defeating mechanism! I even read of rumors that the Irish are going to "chicken out" on Boston College starting in 2011.

This is the wrong way to go. In my opinon, you will never get the four and five star players doing this. Even if you win out, you will go into the serious USC or BCS bowl games a step slower than the real competition ,even though you are just as fast and athletic, because you get used to the lesser competition (note the OSU and LSU debacles of a couple of years ago, which did not have to happen if you follow my premise here).
