Toughest English Section Problems

Last minute prep for PSAE'ers and review for others.

What have been some of the toughest english questions you have seen on the ACT (or SAT)

english has usually been the easiest section on either test... watch out for commas; those seem to be the most-missed questions for many people.. i can't really think of anythine else in particular.

"Its" vs. "it's".

I'd say there's been a question like that on two out of every three practice tests I've taken, not to mention the real one. Not that it's tough--but make sure you know the difference.

''Who'' vs. ''Whom''

and

''Whose'' vs. ''Who's''

sometimes, these trip people up a little

It verse it's
Just make some checks.
If the sentence can be read : It is mine. Then it's it's.

Yeah, I always mess up the who vs whom. I don't think I've ever actually learned the rule

haha same here...who vs whom is ahhhhh

its so simple
who is for a subject
whom is wen its the object

eh..most people can't understand it when you say it like that. Here is the easiest thing to do:

Use who when you can replace the word with he/she/they. Use whom when you can replace the word with him/her/them.

example for who:

Who is the best US president? He/she (ok not she) is the best president.

example for whom:

Whom should I beat up next? I would beat him/her up.
