Anyone else a semifinalist? I got my letter and my semifinalist application in the mail today. It was postmarked the 7th of February from New Jersey. Congrats to all who are semifinalists.

Yea I just received mine today also. Does anybody know how many were chosen as semifinalists? Congrats to everyone else, too.

I didnt get one...but congrats to you all

Good luck everyone!

How many seniors entered and how many semifinalists were chosen.

~Manyhats Mom

1 senior is nominated from each high school class, I am not sure how many become semifinalists

got my letter today (idaho) im also wondering how many semifinalists they choose altogether and from each state

i havent gotten anything :(

I'm also a semifinalist... I'm guessing there is a large number of semifinalits... probably something insane like 5,000, and then I'm going to go to all this work for them to pick like 2 winners or something!!! That's the way it seems to go!

i dont think so. last year about 11,000 applied and they used the priliminary form to give you an index number based on the data you provided. they must have mailed out the semifinalist forms to like top 10% (or who knows what cut off percent) index numbers for further evaluation.

I also received my letter, but it was just a few weeks ago...

i just found out I was a semifinalist for California! Yeah! What type of service projects did you others have? Will grades and SAT scores have a large impact on who recieves this scholarship? How many semi-finalists are there?

DARN IT! I didn't make it i guess! (But its still Feb. do you still have a chance?)

In past years, there have been 100 finalist of which number a smaller group (maybe 20???) are National finalists and won $20,000. The balance won$10,000.

i havent gotten anything yet. is anyone else in this position? does this mean I'm not a semifinalist?

more than likely. they were sent the 7th of February from New Jersey via 1st class mail. 1st class mail usually takes about one week to arrive from Miami, Fl to Seattle, WA. But it could take a few extra days.

i recieved my letter (in ohio) february 14th. it would be interesting to know how many semifinalists there are...!

anyone know how many semifinalists? what type of project did you all perform? i hope my community service work measures up...

i dont know but the website says that they use the preliminary sheet to calculate an index score and they take the top index scores from the state and give them semifinalist apps.

Which address do you address the questionnaire to? On the congrats. letter, it says one address; however, on the questionnaire, it says another address

i sent it to the address on the questionnaire. since it's just a PO box, though, they probably all end up at the same place. or so i hope!
