Track Your Application

hi guys, i am sure this has been asked already, but does anyone know how the track your application feature works? How long does it take after you submit something online before it shows up as "processed"?

Not sure how long until an item is processed, (The Admissions Office can probably answer that better) but the “Track your Application” site will basically keep up to date on what items they have received and processed. That way if they are missing something, you can call and make sure they got it or arrange to have it sent.

thanks J445, so do you know if my application was submitted before March 1st, but my transcripts and ACT score do not show up as “processed” yet, can i still be reviewed at an Early Action candidate?

Absolutely! I am in a similar situation at the moment, because I discovered one school that was paid to send my transcript awhile back had not done so. The Admissions Office informed me that there was a grace period for missing documents if you had already sent in the application. I would suggest calling the Admissions Office on Monday though (or as soon as possible) just to verify the missing items. (It is possible they have the information already but have not processed it yet.)

I’m (kinda) in the same situation too, Liz. I had everything (but my GSAE score) in before Feb 4th. I received emails confirming receipt of my application and 2 letters of rec. My transcripts all showed up on the tracking system (which you’ll notice refreshes only every 24 hours or so) before Feb 4 as well. However, on March 2nd I received an email saying that I was missing a letter of rec. I called GS Admissions to make sure everything was ok. They corrected the mistake instantly. It took no longer than 10 mins to straighten everything out. (Like Johnny445 mentioned) I was also informed of the “grace period” for EA applicants in case they’re missing anything. The grace period is about a week or so. The admissions office has been extremely helpful and nice to me during the whole process. They answer EVERY question/scenario I present. So email or call 'em for anything regarding admissions/applications. I’m in full anxiety mode until I get accepted/rejected. They (and lots of awesome people in the GS forum) have helped ease my anxiety. Thanks!!!

To further clarify the GS application online tracking system, the info displayed is only updated once per day (usually some time after midnight). The statuses are what they processed before the end of the previous business day. So they could have received your transcripts, processed them, and entered the info into the system, but you wouldn’t see it until the next day. So the best thing would be to contact them directly via phone or email. Calling is obviously the quicker route. Like I said before, they’re very quick, helpful, nice, and understanding. And I’m not just saying that!

thanks for the update! i sent in my transcript requests to each school in mid Feb and none of them show as having been recieved. i would be bummed if that threw me over into regular-admission status and had to wait until July to hear back… i think i might die of suspense. i will give them a call tomorrow for sure.
