Trader Joe's Trading Post

Found the TJ gel moisturizer is very close to Clinique moisture surge. I use their zinc sun screen in a tube and just saw they have it in a spray can. I bought a number of the boxes of tin candles, waxed amaryllis bulbs, olive wood bowls and serving pieces for small gifts and stocking stuffers at Christmas. Love their cauliflower rounds, and just found oven baked cheese bites, , 1gm of carbs! Picked up a pretty calla lily plant. When my MIL passed in December, I used their roses, greens and branches to make arrangements and baskets. They were on sale and lovely.

@BunsenBurner (I think):
Shoppers have taken to the internet to complain about the seemingly missing product, with onw shoppwe saying they had searched for the McDonald’s hashbrown dupe for around a month to no avail.

This led to many customers speculating the item had been discontinued, but Trader Joe’s said this is not the case.

“Our hashbrown patties have not been discontinued,” a Trader Joe’s spokesperson confirmed to The U.S. Sun.

So what has driven the scarcity on the shelves?

I was in TJ today to pick up a couple of items and impulse shopped - including a package of Chocolate Mousse Eggs on the bakery shelf. Delicious - small chocolate covered egg-shaped cake with a layer of mousse.

Yum! I will look for those at my TJ. Thanks for the heads up!

This must be the Easter variation of the chocolate mousse hearts they had out for Valentines Day. If so, it will be tasty!

I’m just back from Trader Joe’s, with a six pack of eggs. I had to ask where to find them, and the first words out were, " I don’t think we’ve gotten a new delivery yet". Fortunately, there were a bunch in the shelf, and I know where to look moving forward. Yum! Thanks!

Got the Easter eggs at TJ today! Yes, they are a variant of the heart shaped cake in February, as our taste test could tell.

Trouble in the Big Apple.

I am a big fan of the frozen hash browns, but don’t like how they seem to soak up the oil when pan-frying in a skillet so I tried the toaster hack that someone posted earlier. That didn’t work too well for me, but had the bright idea to try my air fryer. Air fryer for the win! Came out hot and crispy with no oil needed at all.

I never used much oil when pan-reheating them, but I have good non-stick pans (Scanpan). Even though I have not seen these patties at TJ for ages, I’m tempted to get an air fryer…

I highly recommend it! We use our air fryer a lot. Since I keep hearing about the hash browns not being available at so many stores, I’m tempted to grab one every time I’m in my TJ’s

Thanks! Trying to avoid appliance creep, but all this talk about air frying made me want one. Even though the closest to us TJ still has no those hashbrowns…

Publix now carries these hash patties in their freezer section alongside frozen tots, fries, etc… I also cook them in the air fryer and they come out perfectly every time. So easy!

What do you do with them, aside from put them in cocktails?

I may have eaten them once because I just love cherries. But this is what Google says:

The morello cherry continues to be one of the most versatile fruits, used to make desserts, jams and alcoholic drinks such as kirsch, but also in savory in vegetarian, meat and fish recipes.

A morello is a type of sour cherry somewhat sweetened in a liquid here. They make very good pie or thickened into a sauce for crepe or eaten straight out of the jar. They have a more complex flavor than a regular sweet cherry. They are infinitely more useful in the kitchen than any type of preserved sweet cherry. They are more fragile and have a lower yield and don’t grow well in CA so I almost never get them fresh. That TJ cherry has sustained us for many years and I don’t have a convenient Aldi’s. The higher end version of this type of product comes from American Spoon with their excellent cherry products. I don’t begrudge the American a spoon product because the quality/cost is still excellent but I have to ship it and it becomes a special item and not one for Tuesday.
