My TJ score for the week was the Meyer Lemon cake mix which is seasonal. I last got some 2 years ago and used last box just about 6 weeks ago. Was fairly certain it wouldn’t come around this year, so you can imagine that I was excited to find it on the shelf this morning. Bought 3 boxes and also got some tulips to celebrate a gorgeous spring morning here
We enjoyed meyer lemons from our son’s back yard. Gotta go check out the cake mix!
The cat shaped chocolate cookies are my favorite !!!
I needed an appetizer. Purchased the frozen scallion pancakes, I pan fried them but they can be baked too, spread them with sour cream and chopped fresh chives and topped with smoked salmon. Easy and tasty.
I found mine on regular shelves, but this looks like a little bit of heaven to me @jym626. I bought some in 2019 and 2021 and either missed it in 2020 and 2022 or they didn’t have it at all. I always write about this one in the annual TJ survey that asks for favorite products.
Does the mix require eggs?
1 egg, stick of butter & water. Glaze mix requires some additional butter & water.
I put them in the toaster oven set for 5 minutes, which on my Breville, includes 5 minutes warm up time. Easy peasy, come out perfect every time.
I mash half an avocado, top with a little lemon juice and tomato paste in a tube (great TJ product!),and then top either with an egg scrambled flat with Costco bacon bits or a few slices of smoked turkey (also great from TJ). Cut in quarters, and that’s lunch!
I stopped at TJ’s today. This week is public school and local college vacation and they were kind of picked through in Brooklyn. Alas, no soup dumplings or scallion pancakes! But I treated myself to a pack of chocolate mousse eggs. Yummy!
The chocolate mousse eggs were long gone from our store.
Thank you -
The nearest TJ’s is an hour from us but I was able to go yesterday. Always panic a bit when I walk in because I”m like “I can’t remember all the items I want to get!!!”
But got lots of fun and yummy things as well as lots of basics - including many spices which I was low on - their spices are good and pretty darn reasonable at $1.99 each (most of them).
I couldn’t for the life of me remember the sweet treat you all were buying! But did buy a treat - carrot cake filled cookies in the bakery area - sort of like Whoopi pies. They were quite good - 1/2 of one is a good snack. Also bought some lemon poppyseed scones - ok, but wouldn’t buy again.
BUT I did pick up one of these for my DIL. I’ve heard they are hugely popular and they DO smell wonderful and clearly they are popular because they are being sold on resale sites! At TJ’s they are $9.99 - if you like a candle or need a gift for a gardener friend this would be a great one.
The treat you can’t remember was seasonal - little chocolate mousse cakes. Heart shaped for V-day and egg shaped for Easter.
I saw some mousse spring item - flowers I think? They were quite small - maybe that was it - but I don’t think they were chocolate.
Perhaps
Or
I’ve seen these! Cute. Alas, not chocolate. No go for me.
That used to be me, forgetting what I wanted at TJ when we finally got the chance.
Finally I made a custom category in our List Ease app. (I also add a “TJ” prefix because the custom categories don’t seem to replicate nicely to hubby’s phone.) Some of the items that get in that category are from this thread - THANKS all!
Nice organization! Maybe some day….I only get there maybe 4-5 times a year so my list would probably be a mile long by the time I go AND while I love a lot of items, truth be told, none of it can’t be lived without!
We don’t get to TJ much. I’ve dragged the category to the bottom of list (after zBulk, previously at bottom - both are a distraction from my Safeway regular categories.
This method avoids this scenario, which used to happen. Me - “Next time we are in Boulder, I’ll want to stop at TJ”. Husband weeks later (after back home, with bags of good stuff) - “What item(s) did we stop for”? Me - “hmm…. I couldn’t remember”.
