What should a trader look to get an undergrad degree in?

You might want to check out the employee profiles offered by a couple of big banks on their sites (I think goldman has one, same with JP morgan etc).

math! finance!

What kind of securities are you interested in trading?

Whatever will develop and maintain your analytical/critical/logical thinking, will require your discipline, and will keep you very comfortable with numbers.
Beyond that, there's not much you can do outside of developing a useful general skillset. Nothing in university actually prepares you to trade. Some people are cut out for it, and some aren't; and there's no way to know which group you belong to until you're on the trading floor. It's not something that can be learned from books, you've just got to pick it up. I've seen a firefighter who may or may not have finished high school become a solid trader for a bank, while nobel prize winners in physics and economics can screw it up horribly.
