Trajectory vs. Straight GPA

Hey guys,
During my freshman and sophomore years (due to general laziness and my parents getting divorced) my grades weren't as good as I'd like them to be, basically all Bs. During Junior year, my grades improved and I made all As second semester. Senior year I am taking 4 APs and I think I'll make all As again. So my question is, will colleges focus more on my GPA (which is sadly about 3.4) or on my junior/senior year grades?

Colleges care more about Jr and Sr year grades, but your low grades Fr and So year will hurt you. How much they’ll hurt you will depend on what colleges you’re looking at. At places like Ivies, you’ll be competing against people who had straight A’s or mostly A’s all 4 years, but at most schools getting B’s your first 2 years won’t kill your chances.

At most schools, getting Bs your junior and senior year won’t hurt you either.
