My gpa went from a 3.59 to a 3.44 (unweighted) from freshman to junior year with a 3.52 average overall. Is this a bad trend?!?! I took 7 classes every year and made them as rigorous as possible. There was a slight dip in my first semester junior year from some family stuff. PLS HELP
If you went from 4 As and 3 Bs freshman year to 3 As and 4 Bs junior year (or something like that) it’s not a great trend, but is also not necessarily that terrible. More selective schools will look at all the grades, so the trend would matter a little more. Less selective schools would be more likely to just decide if a 3.52 met their standards, and having 3.59 in one year and 3.44 in another might not make that much difference, as it’s not an obvious drop-off. You could also ask your counselor if your transcript will show final grades only (in which case, some lower grades for the first semester of junior year might not matter so much, as no one would see them).
For some schools and programs , yes, it can hurt.
I assume you are taking harder classes in junior year?
Yes i did I found junior year to be extremely hard
Would would a 1490 on the SAT somewhat make up for that decrease?
