<p>I'm transferring from Gannon University, a small private catholic university in Erie,PA to George Washington University Elliot School of International Affairs:
(Also just for interest, would I be able to get into to any of the following schools?:</p>

<p>I'm wondering what I need to bring my SAT/ACTs up to, whether I should take my SAT2s, and how they will act towards my financial situation.

<p>As a soph transfer, it’s very difficult to transfer ‘up’ as you will be assessed on mostly your HS record (gpa and course rigor) and test scores since you will only have completed 1 semester/qt of college (see the sticky thread Transfer Admissions 101).</p>

<p>All of the LORs you list are from either HS and non-academic people, I assume you have 2 LORs from profs/TAs?</p>

<p>While SAT scores are often less important for jr transfers, they are still very important for soph transfers and likely are always important for transfers to top schools like Y, GT, C (not GS), UChicago and UCB. To get an idea of how high score should be, go to the College Board website and use their College Search function. They give 25:75 SAT ranges for each school for fr admissions. And recognize that transfer acceptance rates are generally lower than for fr admissions.</p>

<p>While your EFC is low, if you are an OOS student at a Public school, you are very likely to get no FA.</p>

<p>No financial aid from the most expensive/generous school in the nation?I doubt that. what does OOS even mean?</p>

<p>NYU won’t give you much money at all. We have awful fin aid and even worse aid for transfer students.</p>

<p>Note the Public school part of my comment, ie. UCB & UF.</p>

<p>If you don’t believe that it’s difficult/impossible to get FA from a public U as an OOS student, particularly in the current financial climate, do a search or start a thread on the FA & Scholarship forum and see what kind of replies you get.</p>

<p>Berkeley will not accept Soph transfers, unless you were accepted as a Frosh (and chose to go elsewhere). UC also has horrible finaid for OOS.</p>

<p>Georgetown is much harder.</p>

<p>Go to the CB College Search function and look up the transfer rates and fr 25:75 test ranges for those schools. You will quickly see the difference in selectivity.</p>
