I've attended three different high schools in the last four years. A public high school in California for Freshman year, and two public high schools in Australia in the last three years.

Do I need to contact each of my two previous schools to have them send my transcripts to the colleges I'm applying for? Or is it okay for me to send them myself if I have the official transcripts from each school?

You definitely need get all the official transcripts from all three schools to every college where you are applying. Ideally you would give official transcripts from each school (preferably in separately sealed envelopes) to your current GC to submit on your behalf. You also need to be sure enough information accompanies these transcripts that they are properly matched to your application when they are received (important facts would be your full name, birthdate, SSN if applicable, current permanent address, and ideally your Common AP ID number)
