[Transfer Applicant] Spring Semester 2016

Same email they sent me. Word for word.

Did you get any kinda invitations from any colleges like open house invitation kinda stuff?

Well, atleast we know it’s coming!

Oh and i didnt get any invitations

@Shiksha did you apply to any other universities other than CUNY ? and do you live in NY right now? if yes do you l live with your family? or alone ? I live in Arizona and if i get a chance at CUNY, i need to move to NY and absolutely i have no idea about NY and its life.

@tanzila Im actually a student at the University at Buffalo (SUNY) in upstate NY. Its a nice school but I really dislike the surrounding city. Being from another country, Buffalo is not the city I want to be in. I have been to NYC a lot and absolutely love it! Its hectic and could possibly be a lot to take in but I think its worth it. What is your major?

I applied to St John’s and USF in Tampa but I am really hoping for Baruch. I also sent applications to some other schools via commonapp but I havent sent my other documents to them yet.

@Shiksha my major is computer information system. i donot know. People scares me about NY. they said it dangerous and lots of crime and stuff. and i will be living with may be some room mates so i just want to know something possitive about NY.

I am an International Student too and since I’m graduating from BMCC this semester, Im hoping to be at Baruch by the spring. I applied on August 15th and they told me to wait until the 1st week of Nov. to hear back from them! Im suuuuper anxious… I applied to the Business Communications program

@liaa055 did you just apply to baruch? What does your cuny portal say?

@tanzila I think that the biggest issue with NY is that it is really expensive  I haven’t been to the really scary parts but I guess thats just how it is with cities.

@Tanzil, born and raised in New York; I have yet to run into any conflicts of any type. Not sure who told you that our crime rates are high but I can assure you they certainly do not know what they’re talking about. However, if you’re willing to move to New York then you best be ready to sell your soul to the devil. It’s not cheap and it’s unlike any other state. I live on my own with couple of roommates. There are days where I struggle and can go days without eating a good meal. However, we still manage to live and it certainly isn’t the end of the world. Apart from the financial crisis, it is AMAZING. I am sure you will enjoy your dtay should you decide to move to NY.

@liaa055 mind sharing your stats with us?

@TerminatorX3 did you get any kinda open house invitations from the colleges you applied ?

@tanzila Nope. None. Not sure if you’re supposed to go any.

i got invitations from York college at the end of the september. that was my last choice for the college. people say getting invitations from colleges are chances that you got in but i really want to go into Baruch. and also i heard that when you log into portal and there are the college links like list of colleges you applied to… if any college rejects you the link of the college disappears. My any college link didnot disappear yet but i hope i get in Baruch. @TerminatorX3

Well… I just spoke with an admission counselor over the phone and told me due to rules and regulations she can’t tell me if I was admitted or not. And that if you had applied in May-June, you should heard from them this month. Anything after will be done in November. Furthermore, the only way I can find out if I was admitted or not is by going to the school and figuring it out myself. I guess I’ll be paying them a visit next week if I don’t hear from them by the 20th.

but baruch said that it will starts from next week. i guess i will heard from them in November i applied in 3rd september, when did you apply? @TerminatorX3

July 18.

You will be hearing by october … I have to wait i guess. I hate waiting
