Has anyone started getting acceptances for spring 2020 as yet?
Not yet.Plus does anyone know if a gpa of 3.5 on a scale of 4 and SAT score of 1260 good enough for Baruch College,Hunter College,Queens College or City College?I am an International freshman who studied under British Curriculum.A bit tensed about it
Iām an older transfer who has been out of college for some time to work/travel, after graduating from Queensborough CC in Spring 2016.
STATS
A.S in Engineering Science (requirements for major include Calculus I-III, Differential Equations, Calculus based Physics, etc).
GPA:3.916
77.5 Credits
SAT: 800 Math, 750 Verbal
President of Mathematics Club, decent scorer in the AMATYC and NYSMATYC math contests, worked a tutoring job, participant in the āFed Challenge,ā attended a leadership conference for CUNY students, participant in two rounds of the CUNY Math Challenge
(Dropped out of HS due to the HS being a poor environment and problems pertaining to depression, anxiety; got a GED)
Currently my CUNYfirst says
"Your application is under review. "
Application Fee: Received
Official HS Transcript: Received
Official University Transcript: Received
Official ACT or SAT Score: Received
SCHOOLS ATTENDED
Queensborough CC - Received/Evaluated
GED / TASC / HiSET - NY - Received/Evaluated

I wonder if thereās a reason that it doesnāt say āYour application is complete and under reviewā yet. I suppose Iāll wait a bit more.
Iām transferring to Queens College for a B.A in Math (though likely will tack on a B.S. in Physics on top of that; possibly another in Computer Science)
I should easily get in, though I applied in early-mid August. Iāll return here ASAP when I find out I got in. It seems mid-October is when many find out about admission into Spring semesters for CUNY.
Hereās a convenient guide for what all the sections and terms mean in CUNYfirstās admissions section.
Your GPA is probably above the average for those admitted via transfer, but the SAT score looks a bit iffy. While I donāt think youāre a shoe-in you definitely should have a shot.
Hey bro, I called the welcome center earlier today and they said decisions are coming starting the end of October to December.
My application says the same thing too, I called the welcome center to query this and they said it basically mean Iām waiting on a decision and I shouldnāt be worried. Btw they also stated that decision will start going out the end of October and will continue through to the beginning of December. All the best guys!
I applied to Brooklyn for Spring 2020. Sadly Iām still waiting on one of my transcripts to send before everything will be finalized. I had a 1300 sat score. I had around a 4.37/ 4.5 gpa (I never got to see my final gpa for highschool but I know it could not have changed that much because I received all Aās and A+). I did a lot of extra-curriculars and had a lot of letters of recommendation from highschool, but I heard CUNYās donāt care about those. Iām in my freshman year of college with dual enrollments credits from highschool. They can only look at the dual enrollment credits right since my grades here wonāt be finalized until December? Those grades were okay An Two Aās, an A- , and A B+. Do you think I have a high chance of getting in? Iām super nervous :(.
Your application also says "Your application is under review. " ? And not āYour application is complete and under review.ā ?
Iām pretty sure youāll easily get in. The only thing that could stop you is some mindless mistake in the application process on their end or one regarding documentation. Your academic performance should be more than enough.
Thanks! I canāt wait to find out.
Yes
Currently at BMCC as my last semester here and submitted my transfer application on the deadline(Sep.15); they retrieved both my transcripts(HS and college) online and I have a status of Received on my HS one and a āWaivedā status on my college one, anyone having that problem? On the following section they do show up both transcripts as Received/Evaluated and a FINAL statusā¦ Also they required my SAT/ACT score but isnāt that transfer who have earned more than 24 credits do not have to submit them?
@iLuxury I recon you call the welcome center asap for them to clarify your query. I applied to bmcc for the spring 2020 semester as an international to do my prerequisites for the nursing program they offer Iām worried I wonāt get in thou?. Also was the CAT in math hard ? What were some topic that came on it and were you allowed to use a calculator. Iām anxiously awaiting my decision.
I think I took the CAT years ago when I first entered Queensborough in Fall 2014 after getting my GED, so I must have taken it aroundā¦June/July of 2014, if Iām not mistaken.
The most advanced math topics were in inverse trigonometric functions, so I think it basically goes up to Precalculus. I scored well enough to enter and skip ahead of College Algebra and Precalculus to start with Calculus 1.
https://www.khanacademy.org/math/precalculus
^as long as you know Complex Numbers, Polynomials, Composite Functions, and Trigonometry from this Khan Academy link, you should be ok. There werenāt any Vectors, Matrices, Series, Conic Sections. There may have been some basic probability.
And note that you only really need to do this well if you wanna skip Precalculus and start with Calculus 1.
There has already been mistakes on my application :(, but I called and got the Application Correction Request Form and submitted that so hopefully everything can be fine and my last transcript comes in soon. Iām hoping for my application to be complete this upcoming week. I hate that I missed the priority deadline but Iām still feeling optimistic. Wishing everyone the best that they get into their first choice collleges!
Thank you Soo much @OlderQCTransfer . Im currently practicing a few problem from Khan academy should I be accepted
What kind of mistake?Cause I can check if I have them too or not
@highlystressed01 what are the mistakes you make ?
@123_stallion I didnāt realize I had to write the colleges credits I received in high school down as part of universities I attended. I submitted the application correction form on Friday though.
