I applied as a domestic transfer student to Queens College. I got the same notification everybody else did and I called the CUNY hotline as well. The automated message just says I will be notified by the college directly and ends with âQueens College.â Did anybody else apply to Queens College? If so, any word from them yet? When/how are we supposed to be notified? The suspense is driving me insane here! lol I have been checking my emails for the past 2 weeks, especially last night!!!
@sluffle Everyone as a transfer student that has had the same message got accepted to their chosen college. Iâll go on a limb and saw youâve been accepted just wait for confirmation.

Iâm a student currently enrolled at Laguardia CC⊠I submitted my transfer application for Spring 2016 to Baruch in May 2015. My application was read as incomplete, and I contacted CUNY via email in early september. They told me everything was fine and it would be updated soon. Iâve been following this thread and saw some were being admitted, so on Monday I called CUNY to see what was going on. Turns out CUNY didnât waive my application fee (though I am a CUNY student) so my application was held. They corrected the issue in seconds.
Now my Baruch transfer application is being considered on a rolling space-available basis. Are my chances for this upcoming semester shot?
3.65 gpa at Laguardia, 26 attempted credits.

Ok since Iâm one of those people who continuously search every aspect of the application process, I would like to inform Everyone about my application process including admission.
CUNY PORTAL APPLICATION COMPLETE - AN ADMISSION DECISION HAS BEEN MADE ARC.
I applied June 2015 for spring of 2016 in order of
Brooklyn college
City Tech
City College
Hunters College
Early October around October 9th-12th, my Cunyportal had changed to âAn admission decision has been made you will be contacted by the colleges in 2 weeksâ
I then called the CUNY hotline which then said an admission decision has been made by the following college and then the automated voice said "Brooklyn College " using logic and information I found through college confidentials I determined that I was accepted by Brooklyn College as Brooklyn college was my first choice. If I had not been accepted by Brooklyn College which was my first choice then the automated system would have said the colleges name that had accepted me skipping over the ones that had not accepted me,
FAFSA VERIFICATION ARC
I have been selected for verification for fafsa fearing that verification might tamper with my acceptance I called financial aid asking them what the time limit to turn in the documents were he informed me I had fill the spring 2016 semester started not the 14 day limit they tell you in the verification email but regardless I ordered the TAX TRANSCRIPT (which for parents please order ASAP itâll speed the process up or you can go in person at your nearest IRS and pick it up ) and make sure your FAFSA if youâre a student has your taxs and file your taxs online that way when you link your taxs with your FAFSA your tax transcript will be in the school of your choice already so you wonât have to worry about your Tax Transcript just your parents. During my call with financial aid I remembered that âI have yet to receive an admission Email from Brooklyn college but they are asking me for financial informationâ (((this is a great indication that youâve been accepted. Why would a college try to give you financial aid IF youâre not accepted? Even without an admission Email)))

I then asked the financial aid counselor verbatim " um sir sorry for coming out of left field but one more question am I accepted? Because it kind of makes no sense why a college would ask me for financial aid information if I havenât been accepted it would defies logic" his response (which I will change around IN MY WORDS just to respect him and his words and calm the people who are like me who continuously look at every aspect of the process to the point of obsession and to quench everyoneâs thirst) are "I wonât âconfirmâ but âyour logic is spot onâ " if you have not gotten an " acceptance " letter yet you will shortly.
I am now waiting on the acceptance E-mail and Mail letter . I hope I calmed everyone with this much needed unpuncuated run on sentence of information lol
@Andretheswift Yay! Awesome, thank you for the update. I havenât filled out FAFSA yet because I want physical proof of my acceptance, but this reassures me greatly.
I applied September 13 and they didnât change my status until October 1 to âAn admission decision has been made. You will be contacted by the colleges in two weeks.â Since then I have been calling and I get the same automated message, except mine says Queens College at the end.
But it wonât stop me from checking my emails every 5 minutes lol
Heard fafsa is only for united States citizens. Iâm an international student so not for me
Just a little updateâŠ
I called Queens College and spoke with a man from the undergraduate admissions office. I explained to him that my cuny portal status just said that an admission decision was made and that I really wanted to know when I would receive a decision. He asked me if I knew what the decision was and I said no. He asked for my SS# and my name. A few seconds after that told me I was indeed admitted into Queens College. He continued to tell me I would get an email from CUNY first, then acceptance emails and instructions from Queens College within the next few weeks.

I got another acceptance from Kingsborough community college, that makes it two acceptance letters now. But medgar is my number 1

Hello all! I am happy for all of you that have been accepted to the colleges of your choices, anyone that was rejected⊠donât worry, life goes on.
I applied to Baruch as a transfer student for Spring 2016 in September but I still havenât heard back. Iâm starting to get very worried because I need to know so I can start preparing for my spring semester, whether is be at Baruch (my first choice) or the University Iâm currently at. Iâm really hoping I got in to Baruch but itâs taking so long for them to tell me if I did or didnât.
@ticktack Donât worry, I am sure you got accepted! Have you tried calling Baruch directly?
Also, I was told by CUNY that the emails would come within 2 weeks.

Yeah, I called Baruch last week but Iâm assuming a student worker answered the call because she wasnât sure of any of the answers and had to ask her supervisor before telling me. They said to wait a week or two so weâll see. Thanks for the reassurance!
