I am currently at the University of Texas as San Antonio with intentions of transferring to Austin. I plan on applying for the college of natural sciences (specifically, neuroscience major) and I have acquired 43 credit hours with a 3.55 cumulative GPA. I was also on the "Dean's list" for the spring 2012 semester and the "President's list" for the fall 2012 semester if that makes a difference. What are my chances of getting accepted? I am also a member of the Pre-med society and taking rigorous courses next semester e.g. Genetics, Chemistry I, Calculus, and Social Psychology. Will admissions take this into account when considering me?

I would imagine a 3.55 would make you a pretty good candidate if you have some pretty good things to put on a resume. If you are attempting to apply for the fall, see if you can bring that GPA up to a 3.65-3.7. That seems to be the going trend to where you won’t have any worries about getting in.
