Transfer chances at MIT/Stanford/Berkeley

I am applying to transfer to MIT, Stanford, and Berkeley. EECS at MIT and Berkeley and just EE at Stanford. I am applying as a Junior transfer.

Here is some basic information about me:

I go to a 4 year University (CSU) and have a 3.76 GPA. Mostly A's (or A-'s), except for 3 B's in Math/Science classes (out of 17 total Math/Science classes taken), and 2 B's in Humanities classes.

My SAT scores are very sporadic:

SAT I: 1320 710V/610M
SAT II: Math2c 710, Physics 590, English 570

Extra Circular:

I am also an open source application developer. I write numerical analysis (Math) software for scientific computing. The application I am working right now has most of the features an undergraduate Engineering or Science major would need, well I shouldn't say that, but I do use it for all my personal computations almost never opening MatLab so it's pretty functional for undergrads. All the schools will be linked to the project webpage/development page of course.

Work Experience:

Couple of EE internships where I worked on a variety of projects, as an assistant type role and as the Engineer running the whole project, I talk a little bit about this in my essays.

High School GPA:

I had around a 3.0 in high school, and here is the really bad part, my math/science grades were really poor (never got past Trigonometry in high school) and have several F's in Math/Science classes on my high school transcript.

I think that's everything, so what do you guys think? I'm worried about my SAT scores, High School GPA, and the fact that I don't have any formal recognition. Do I have any chance at the schools I am applying to or should I be perfecting my delivery of, "would you like fries with that?" for my future customers. XD (that was a joke if anyone didn't get it)

Please be brutally honest.

Brutally? I don't see it. Your math SAT will kill you. SATIIs don't help. From a CSU I think a 4.0 would be expected.

look...since you are from a CSU (4-year) you have tough chances if you were from a community college I would say you would have had very good chances in berekely...no way in MIT or Stanford...

MIT is out of the question.

Personally I did not apply to MIT and I wouldn't apply anyone to do so.

They HATE transfers.
It's not about how good you are, you can be 3 times better than their freshman applicants but they still hate you.

Berkeley on the other hand, LIKES transfer.

so i would say you have a good chance at UCB, I can't comment on Stanford (I really don't know), and I honestly do not think MIT will take you (No hard feeling)

Cal - tough reach for EECS
MIT - no
Stanford - no

Your chances for Cal would've been much improved if you came from a California community college.

So for those of you who didn't give a reason, why do you think I wouldn't get into MIT/Stanford? (which seem to that everyone thinks I have no chance at)

Again, don't spare my feelings, it's important to have a realistic outlook on my chances. Think of me as a punching bag and let loose, just give a reason with each punch :)

MIT only accepts about 5 transfers per year and those people typically have some very big accomplishments or something that makes them really stand out.

The more applicants you know (more stats you look up), the better you know where you stand.

when you have stats from all applicants (hint: admission office), they know who they gonna take.

from my experience, your SAT doesn't quite do it for Stanford nor MIT, unfortunately.

additionally you are transfering from a CSU...

you are on the low end of the spectrum for stanford, but still in the "worth a shot" range. just dont be disappointed if you dont get it. MIT is a reach for everyone, and you are too low for them, unfortunately. take the shot if you want, but it might be a wasted app. fee.

I would say just apply to everything anyway...MIT is out of question...stanford maybe (long shot) ... berkeley chances...

Please don't take any offense by this, but you wanted to know....

Stanford - Your transfer GPA is a bit on the low end. Is your open source software really an improvement over Matlab other than the fact that it is free? Does the project have a faculty sponsor? No offense, but I'm not sold that an adcom looking for the next budding PhD in the field is going to be impressed at all by this. You needed to compensate for the transfer GPA and add something special and I really don't see it at all.

MIT - same as above but worse

Cal - decent (not spectacular) stats but you came from the wrong school. 15/85 against you but you never know. Worth an application fee.

I hope you applied to other schools or are willing to graduate from the CSU.
