Hello, I'm a freshman right now and looking to transfer for next year.
I'm currently attending Rutgers College. It's ranked #60, and it's a public school so I'm partly going to it because due to some scholarships, it's nearly free.
However, I still want to try for some harder schools.

In high school, I had a 3.7 GPA, only two APs, pretty good extracurriculars and some nice international experiences, including an internship in a foreign country.
In college, I'm getting as high of A's as possible [as in, 45/46 on a test before any curving even happens], except for one class -- Expository Writing. I'm not sure if other colleges have this kind of stuff, but the average is like a Not Pass / C / C+, essentially quite low. I'll be really proud of myself if I even pull off a B, but will any other colleges?
I had a 1490 on SATs, 780/780/720 on my SAT II's.
I have legacy to UPenn.
I applied to NYU last year but somehow the application got screwed up and I only found out when it was too late and the $65 deposit fee ended up getting mailed back to me.
I'm not that involved in extracurriculars here at Rutgers yet, I'm not sure how much that will hurt me. I kind of wanted to get adjusted to the college life first, but I do practice Kendo [Japanese sword fighting] here, and I'm a member of a few other clubs.
Oh, and a number of teachers really like me and would be willing to write me recommendations.

To summarize...
Pros:
Legacy at UPenn, unfortunate screw-up with the NYU application, high SAT scores, tons of international goodies
Cons:
The possible B in Expository Writing, not much extracurriculars yet, not the highest GPA back in high school.
