transfer chances at UB

I'm planning on applying to buffalo for fall '10. What would be my chances of getting into the business school? I'm going to have 57 credits for sure by the time i apply, and 69 by the time im actually done with the spring semester and i'm currently a sophomore in CUNY Baruch btw. I'm most likely going to have at least a 3.0 gpa by the time i apply. in case this helps ive had an extreme and i mean EXTREME upward trend. my first semester of college-fall '08 after 16 credits i had a 2.18 gpa (D in calculus really killed me along with a couple of history classes), then in spring '09 i really bounced back with a 3.1 gpa and another 16 credits. took a summer bio class didnt do so well on it-C. and as of this semester im really trying for a 3.85, if im lucky a 4.0 gpa but all i know is that my GPA is definitely going to be above a 3.6 this semester, and then 2 winter classes on top of that.

come on somebody chance me please

Well your chances on getting into UB are pretty close to 100% i think. Business school on the other hand while your gpa is good enough (2.5 is required unless acounting then its 3.0) The only way you can get accepted directly into the Business School is if you have taken all 7 Prerequisite Business courses. (Micro,Macro,Calc 1, Stats,Psyc, Accounting 1, Accounting 2) If not then you go into the general school finish taking what ever classes you need and apply for the Business school. Which is the same requirements.

Btw I am a spring 2010 transfer and i don’t have all 7 prerequisite courses. So i am going to Finish them in the spring and then go into the business school officially for fall. I have made MANY phone calls assuring that there is no cap and that I am guranteed into the Business school as long as i take all 7 prerequisite courses and my GPA is 2.5.

THANK YOU SOO MUCH. sorry about the overexcitement but i was waiting for someone to finally respond to my thread. thanks for all the info. and its def. by far the closest i can relate too because your a transfer yourself and you also wanna do business. thanks for the info and congrads on getting in, hopefully im next

what was your gpa

2.8. I want to do accounting so i need to raise it to a 3.0 that shouldnt be a problem. My gpa should be much higher this semester and my first semester at buff should go well because im taking classes that i both enjoy and have knowledge in. If i don’t get to the 3.0 (which i know i will) i would end up doing Finance you only need a 2.5 to do it or any other business major at that.

oo word thats mad nice congrads
