Transfer Chances to Yale or Columbia from Dartmouth?

I just finished my first year at Dartmouth and I am thinking about applying to transfer to either Yale or Columbia for various reasons. I am a prospective double major in Chinese and Economics, and I also am working towards a minor in French hopefully. I received a 4.0 for both semesters during my first year at Dartmouth. In high school I was a 4.0 student, and I got a 2270 on my SATs (not sure if this is considered for transfer students).

I'm involved in classical piano performance on campus, as well as a few international relations oriented clubs, and I also write for The Dartmouth (the newspaper on campus)

I know transfer admissions are competitive, but any idea what my chances might be?

I think you have a very strong shot. I would also consider applying to Stanford. One side note: for some reason Dartmouth tends to grow on people. I didn't love it my first year, by graduation I couldn't have loved it more. Sophomore and junior year the great academics really start to come through and the study abroad starts to make it really interesting. Grants/ research starts to happen. Also (and I know many like me in this regard) with sophomore summer the social "fit" on campus starts to happen.

Gosh, which Dartmouth did you spend the year at? Both semesters? At the Dartmouth in NH you would have had 3 quarters.

Lol good call.

Ouch, owned.

I wonder why people troll like that.
