Hello. I'm currently a student at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with an undecided major. This is my freshman year so I don't have a college G.P.A. yet but I am expecting 3.7+ this semester. I didn't really do awesome in high school... average B student in all honors classes... a little better than top 20% of class. SAT=1410 ... ACT=30. I'm considering possibly transfering to the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences as an econ major or simply as undecided. What are my chances for transfering in as a sophmore?

Probably nil.

I'm guessing you'd have a better chance if you could portray some focus, especially since you've already been in school for a while. An undecided major will probably work against you.

Also make sure your essays include a really good reason for transferring. You're already at a good school, so just "feeling like it" is not going to cut it.

All you have to loose is the time and application fee. Deadline is in March, so if you really have a good reason, go for it.
